Assessment Social Worker London Borough of Havering Up to 37 per hour The London Borough of Havering is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assessment Social Worker to join their frontline team. This role is ideal for a practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, child-centered assessments. The Role and Expectations As an Assessment Social Worker in Havering, you will be responsible for managing a manageable caseload (averaging 25 cases) during peak times, focusing on initial assessments and immediate safeguarding interventions. Expert Assessment: Conducting robust, evidence-based assessments. Legal Proficiency: Applying a deep understanding of the Children Act and child protection laws. Direct Work: Engaging creatively and effectively with children. Systems Management: Utilizing LiquidLogic for all case recording. Working Pattern and Logistics Havering offers a structured hybrid working model designed to balance team support with flexibility. This arrangement is stable and unlikely to change for at least the next 3 months. Duty Weeks: 5 days in the office. Off-Duty Weeks: 2 days in the office. Equipment: Provided by the LA; must be collected from Town Hall. Requirements Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England Registered). Substantial experience specifically within Referral and Assessment teams. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet statutory deadlines.
