Functional Skills Tutor - St Helens

The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is looking for skilled Functional Skills Tutors to support learners across St Helens through personalised tuition.

You''ll work with students who are developing their English and Maths skills, helping them work towards Functional Skills qualifications while also building the practical skills and confidence they need for further education, employment and everyday life.

Position Details

* Location: St Helens
* Position: Functional Skills Tutor
* Hours: 5-15 hours per week
* Start Date: September 2026
* Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

* Experience teaching Functional Skills English and/or Maths
* Previous tutoring or teaching experience
* Strong subject knowledge
* A supportive and adaptable teaching style

To be eligible, you must:

* Hold the Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
* Provide two professional references
