SEN Support Worker

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and dedicated SEN Support Worker to provide personalised support to children and young people with additional learning needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping individuals develop their confidence, independence and life skills within a supportive and personalised environment.

• Educated to degree level (2:1 or above) in a relevant subject, such as Education, Psychology, Childhood Studies, Health & Social Care or a related field.
• Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia or other additional needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with children and young people.
• Able to adapt support to meet individual needs and different communication and learning styles.
• Confident supporting individuals who may display challenging behaviour.
• Organised and able to maintain accurate records of progress and activities.
• A genuine interest in helping children develop confidence, independence and practical life skills.

• Providing one-to-one support tailored to the individual''s needs and abilities.
• Supporting children with their learning, communication and development.
• Helping individuals develop essential life skills and independence.
• Supporting engagement with educational activities and, where appropriate, core subjects.
• Building confidence through positive encouragement and personalised activities.
• Supporting children who may experience challenging behaviour, using appropriate strategies and a calm, consistent approach.
• Using visual communication tools and other personalised resources where required.
• Supporting outdoor and practical activities, including opportunities to learn through nature and the local environment.
• Monitoring and recording the individual''s progress towards agreed outcomes.
• Working closely with families, teachers and other professionals to provide consistent support.
• Providing regular feedback and progress updates.
