Join our Power Commercial team as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on the HS2 Projects and you''ll deliver complex work that really matters to our business and become involved in some of the biggest infrastructure projects in the industry.The role requires weekly meetings in Derby and Warrington with visits required to Birmingham once a month for Project Reviews, flexibility for working location for remainder of the working week.What you''ll be doingResponsible for the financial management of a major, complex project(s) or a number of projects from inception, tendering, negotiating and agreeing contracts and then commercially delivering Projects often worth many tens of millions of pounds.Manage costs in relation to infrastructure projects with experience of identifying commercial risks and opportunities in respect of their worksDeliver varied commercial duties including responsibility for procuring and managing supply chainOptimise commercial performance through diligent cost control and value for money opportunities, whilst achieving the required standards and quality for our customersCreate and maintain commercial relationships to both internal and external stakeholdersContract administration with both client and subcontractorsProvide support and adherence for the Gated Business Lifecycle processMentor and develop junior members of the teamProactively drive career and personal development, including professional certificationLead on collating costs and maximising value on a large project in particular managing the Design works within the HS2 project.Preparation of Estimates and Tender submissions including the interpretation of specifications and preamblesManage the preparation of Target Cost for a Project, including the associated risksSupport the review of tenders, including estimates, cost data and contract reviewsProvide commercial input to value engineering reviewsEstablish client supply chain requirements and advise on alternative forms of contract and procurement arrangements.Manage the preparation of the monthly CVR and associated commercial reportsPresent commercial progress to senior divisional staffApplication of legislation and ability to liaise with legal expertWho we''re looking forAn organised, innovative and creative Senior Quantity Surveyor with in-depth knowledge and experience of working on Projects and Portfolio''s.Proven skills in commercial awareness, client liaison, project management and team leadership.
