WSP is seeking an Associate Director / Associate / Principal Fluvial Geomorphologist / Hydromorphologist within the Catchment Science team. The role focuses on specialisms such as fluvial geomorphology, Water Framework Directive (WFD), natural flood management (NFM), nature-based solutions (NbS), weir removal, river and catchment enhancement, and biodiversity net gain (BNG) for watercourses. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape your role, contribute to diverse projects, and support the growth of our Hydromorphology Service area. You will work within a team of technical specialists and collaborate across various service lines, engaging in projects across sectors like water, transport, energy, and habitat restoration.Our team is committed to diversity, inclusion, and flexible working arrangements.Providing technical support and mentorshipDeveloping training materials and proposalsProducing high-quality reports and managing project schedules and budgetsMentoring junior staff and fostering professional growthBuilding relationships across the consultancy to enhance service offeringsProven experience in fluvial geomorphology and WFD, including project management and team leadershipKnowledge of UK/EU water legislation and biodiversity policieschartership preferred but WSP supports developmentStrong communication, report writing, and collaboration skillsWe offer a supportive environment with flexible working, professional development opportunities, and a culture that values diversity and inclusion.
