A leading and rapidly expanding UK infrastructure business is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join its water division. The business delivers major civil engineering, utility and infrastructure projects across the UK and has a strong reputation for safe, high-quality and innovative project delivery. This is a senior opportunity for a Design Manager with experience in water, wastewater, utilities or civil infrastructure who is looking to take responsibility for an in-house design team and a varied portfolio of projects. Key Responsibilities Manage and develop an in-house team of designers. Lead the delivery and coordination of civil and infrastructure design activities. Undertake Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015. Manage design solutions through the various stages of project delivery. Oversee the preparation and review of drawings, reports, specifications and estimates. Coordinate multidisciplinary design inputs and ensure design integrity. Check design outputs for accuracy, quality and compliance. Manage design workloads, programmes and resources. Liaise with Project Managers, clients, framework teams and external design consultants. Provide technical guidance to engineers, technicians and apprentices. Support the resolution of technical issues across projects. Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
