Scout recruiting is currently resouring for a detail-oriented and organised Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our Stamford based client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and supporting our accounting functions. Duties

• Record and maintain financial transactions using accounting software Sage 50
• Responsible for keeping the Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Nominal Ledger up to date and accurate.
• Reconcile bank statements and prepare financial reports as required
• Apply and process VAT correctly and produce quarterly VAT returns
• Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Maintain organised financial records in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
• Credit control

Requirements

• Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within a small to medium organisation
• Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management
• Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members and external partners
• Basic knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards
