Head of Year – Secondary School in Radcliffe

Choice Teachers are recruiting an experienced Head of Year for a welcoming secondary school in Radcliffe.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships with young people and making a difference to their school experience. You’ll lead pastoral support for a year group, helping pupils improve their attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils with pastoral concerns and barriers to learning

• Monitoring attendance, punctuality and behaviour

• Working with parents, carers and staff to put effective support plans in place

• Supporting pupils returning to school after absence or exclusion

• Keeping accurate records and sharing updates with senior leaders

• Coordinating interventions and supporting the wider year team

• Providing some pupil supervision or lesson cover when required

To be considered, you’ll need previous Head of Year or similar pastoral leadership experience in a school. You should be confident managing challenging situations, communicating with families and following safeguarding procedures.
