This role plays a key part in improving living conditions and management standards across the private rented sector, ensuring safety, compliance, and support for vulnerable residents.Key ResponsibilitiesInspections and HHSRS: Conduct property inspections under Part 1 of the Housing Act 2004 (Housing Health and Safety Rating System) and the Environmental Protection Act 1990.Property Licensing: Assess applications for property licences (including HMOs), investigate licensing status, and monitor compliance with conditions.Enforcement: Issue notices, orders, Simple Cautions, and Financial Penalty Notices. Prepare prosecution cases under PACE/RIPA guidelines and attend court or First-tier Tribunals when necessary.Grants Delivery: Assess and process Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs) and Minor Adaptations to support independent living.Candidate RequirementsQualifications: Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health (or equivalent housing-related qualification).
