Our client, is currently seeking a Flood Risk Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Essex. This full-time, temporary role is for an initial 3-month period with a view to extend, working 37 hours per week.Key Responsibilities:Deliver technical services across flood risk analysis, including reviewing flood risk assessments and SuDS designs.Respond to planning applications and contribute to the management of the council''s flood storage assets.Challenge consultants and developers to design effective drainage systems compliant with local and national policy and legislation.Provide expertise in SuDS systems, monitoring, and assessing drainage systems across various developments.Ensure the council meets its statutory obligations and maintain high standards of probity and conduct.Contribute to the Environmental Protection and Drainage Team on flood risk management, land drainage, and SuDS systems review.Undertake practical work such as lifting manholes, inspecting drainage systems, or flood risk assets.Make routine decisions regarding site visits, inspections, and public enquiries.Job Requirements:Relevant professional degree/qualification or equivalent work experience in flood risk engineering, drainage, or environmental protection.Understanding of safeguarding issues commensurate with the role.Experience in an organisation of comparable scale and complexity.Demonstrable track record of providing efficient, effective, and professional flood risk assessment services.Pro
