Pre-Construction Estimator - IND1

Location: Bedford Office
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: Up to -40,000 per annum, depending on experience

TXM Recruit are working with a specialist commercial construction and building services provider delivering electrical, mechanical, fit-out, refurbishment and engineering solutions across commercial environments.

They are looking for an experienced Pre-Construction Estimator to lead the estimating and tendering process, supporting projects from initial enquiry through to successful handover.

Job Purpose
The Pre-Construction Estimator will oversee estimating, budgeting and tender preparation for commercial construction projects, ensuring accurate pricing and competitive submissions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyse project information, drawings and specifications.
• Prepare estimates and tender proposals for projects valued up to -250,000.
• Calculate labour and material costs from technical drawings.
• Assess project planning, construction methods and sequencing.
• Liaise with clients to clarify specifications and project requirements.
• Obtain competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Attend site surveys, tender reviews and project handover meetings.
• Produce accurate estimates using the company''s pricing systems.
• Support business unit objectives and provide weekly progress updates.

Skills and Experience Essential

• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator within the commercial construction sector.
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Construction Contracting Operations (Estimating).
• Experience managing estimates and the full tender submission process.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good IT literacy.
