Looking for flexible work from September?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking to speak with experienced Cover Supervisors and education professionals interested in day-to-day supply opportunities across Chippenham from September 2026.

If you are looking for flexibility, variety and the opportunity to work across different secondary schools, day-to-day supply could be a great fit. Whether you are an experienced Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, HLTA or education professional with strong classroom experience, we would like to hear from you.

Before applying, please confirm:

  • Do you have experience working with secondary-age students?
  • Are you available for day-to-day supply work across Chippenham from September 2026?
  • Do you have previous experience working within a UK or overseas education setting?
  • Are you a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, HLTA or experienced education professional looking for flexible secondary school work?
  • Are you confident managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment?

Tradewind Recruitment is building its team of education professionals ahead of the new academic year, with day-to-day supply opportunities available across Chippenham and the surrounding areas.

About Tradewind Recruitment

At Tradewind, we specialise in connecting skilled education professionals with schools across the UK.

We work closely with candidates and schools to match experience, availability and requirements, helping education professionals find roles that fit their circumstances and career plans.

With over 240 5-star Google reviews from our candidates, past and present, we pride ourselves on providing a professional, responsive service.

Our experienced consultants are on hand throughout the registration and placement process, helping you find opportunities that match your experience, location and availability.

The Opportunity

As a Secondary Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes when the regular teacher is unavailable, ensuring students remain focused and learning continues.

You may work across different subjects and year groups, following pre-prepared lesson plans and maintaining a well-managed classroom.

This role would suit someone who is confident, reliable and organised, with the ability to manage student behaviour effectively and adapt quickly to different school environments.

Day-to-day supply offers the flexibility to work when you are available while gaining valuable experience across a range of secondary schools.

You do not need to be a subject specialist for every lesson. You will be expected to follow the work provided, communicate instructions clearly and ensure students remain engaged and productive throughout the lesson.

Your Responsibilities

As a Secondary Cover Supervisor, you may be responsible for:

  • Supervising secondary school classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and clearly communicating instructions.
  • Managing classroom behaviour firmly, fairly and consistently.
  • Maintaining a safe, structured and productive learning environment.
  • Monitoring student engagement and ensuring work is completed.
  • Supporting students with their learning where appropriate.
  • Communicating effectively with teaching staff and school leaders.
  • Reporting any significant behaviour or safeguarding concerns appropriately.
  • Following school policies, safeguarding procedures and professional expectations.
  • Adapting to different schools, subjects, year groups and classroom environments.

What We Offer

Competitive pay: We will always seek to secure you the highest rate of pay possible, with rates of -120140 per day for these opportunities.

Flexibility: Choose when you work and take advantage of day-to-day supply opportunities that fit around your availability and other commitments.

Dedicated support: Our experienced consultants will work with you throughout the registration and placement process, helping you find suitable opportunities.

A trusted employer: We are proudly a Sunday Times Top 100 employer for four consecutive years.

We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional service to our candidates and are proud to be an Equal Opportunities Employer.
