1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant KS2 Wakefield Full-Time Asap initially until Dec ongoing Specialist SEMH ProvisionPK Education are recruiting for a resilient, nurturing and experienced 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil within a small specialist provision in Wakefield.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, who understands that behaviour can often be a form of communication.The role will involve providing consistent 1:1 support to help the pupil:• Regulate their emotions and behaviour • Develop positive and trusting relationships • Engage successfully with learning • Access the KS2 curriculum at an appropriate level • Develop confidence, resilience and independence • Work towards individual EHCP outcomesWe are particularly interested in candidates with experience within SEMH settings, PRUs, Alternative Provision, specialist schools or behaviour support roles.You will need to be calm, patient and emotionally resilient, with the ability to establish clear boundaries while maintaining a nurturing and consistent approach.Experience of de-escalation, emotional regulation strategies, trauma-informed practice or Team Teach/positive handling would be highly advantageousWhat s on offer: Competitive rates of pay from between £95- £115 per day (AWR Compliant)On the job training provided by the school24/7 support and feedback from experienced education consultants We pride ..... full job details .....
