Freelance Quantity Surveyor – Residential Developer (Leicester)

We are working with a well-established housing developer seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support residential projects in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team delivering high-quality housing schemes.

Start date: ASAP

Duration: Ongoing - 5 days per week Monday - Friday 

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing project costs across multiple residential developments
• Preparing and reviewing budgets, cost plans, and tender documentation
• Procurement of subcontractors and supplier packages
• Valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Monitoring cost performance and reporting to senior management
• Ensuring commercial targets are met across each phase of development

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential or housing developments
• Strong understanding of subcontract procurement and cost control
• Familiarity with UK construction contracts (e.g. JCT)
• Excellent commercial and negotiation skills
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar

Details:

• Location: Leicester (office based with up to 3 days working from home / on site split)
• Contract: Freelance / Self-employed
• Rate: £300 - £320 per day
• Start: Immediate or short notice preferred
