SEN Year 6 Teacher - Specialist SEN School

Remedy Recruitment Group is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to work within a specialist SEN school, supporting a Year 6 class of 12 pupils with a range of additional needs.

The class is supported by two Teaching Assistants, and pupils are working academically at approximately Year 1-3 level. All pupils are verbal, with needs including Autism (ASC), learning difficulties and social communication challenges.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who can create an engaging, structured and supportive learning environment, helping pupils develop both academically and socially as they prepare for the next stage of their education.

The Role:

• Teaching a Year 6 class of 12 pupils with additional needs.

• Planning and delivering lessons adapted to pupils working at Year 1-3 ability levels.

• Working closely with two Teaching Assistants to provide tailored support.

• Supporting pupils with autism, learning difficulties and social communication needs.

• Managing behaviour positively and promoting emotional regulation.

• Developing pupils'' confidence, independence and social skills.

• Creating a structured classroom environment that encourages engagement and progress.

• Monitoring pupil progress and adapting learning to meet individual needs.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• Experience working within an SEN or specialist education setting.

• Experience supporting pupils with autism and learning difficulties.

• Confident managing classroom behaviour and supporting social development.

• Able to differentiate lessons to meet a range of learning abilities.

• Patient, nurturing and passionate about helping every pupil reach their potential.
