A University in London is currently seeking an Insight Analyst to join their Data Insight team. As an Insight Analyst, you will provide analysis and insight to support informed decision-making and improve student outcomes across the University.

Working closely with Student Support and other student-facing services, the role focuses on understanding the factors influencing student engagement, retention, continuation and success.

The role combines analytical expertise, Power BI development and effective stakeholder engagement to ensure insight is accessible, actionable and used to inform operational and strategic decisions. The role provides an opportunity to directly influence student success by helping the University understand which interventions deliver the greatest impact and where resources can be targeted most effectively.

Requirements

• Work closely with Student Support and other student-facing services to understand their priorities, challenges and opportunities for using data and insight.
• Analyse student lifecycle data to identify trends, patterns, risks and opportunities relating to student engagement, retention, continuation, completion and outcomes.
• Use diagnostic and evaluative analytical techniques to identify drivers of student outcomes and support proactive interventions.
• Work with stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of student support initiatives and interventions, linking activity to subsequent student outcomes wherever possible.
• Translate stakeholder questions and operational challenges into appropriate analytical approaches, measures and reporting requirements.
• Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to support operational decision-making, performance monitoring and evaluation.

Experience

• Experience of analysing complex datasets to identify trends, patterns and opportunities, translating findings into actionable insight and evidence-based recommendations
• Experience of developing reports, dashboards and data visualisations using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools
• Experience of extracting, querying, transforming, validating and manipulating data from multiple sources using SQL or other appropriate analytical and data management tools
• Experience of working with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate these into meaningful analysis and insights
• Strong data interrogation and analysis skills, with the ability to work with data from multiple sources while ensuring accuracy, quality and integrity throughout the process
