They are looking for an experienced SENCO to join their team for a short-term contract. Dates: Monday 2nd November to Friday 18th December (potential extension until 12th February)Working pattern: Full-timeLocation: The school is located in Havering (Romford/Colliers Wood). It is close to Elizbeth Line (Romford Station) and has onsite parking). Key roles and responsibilities of a SENCOIdentify pupils who may have special educational needs.Monitor pupils'' progress and identify barriers to learning.Coordinate assessments and referrals to external specialists.Maintain records of pupils'' needs and progress.Create and oversee Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or other individual support plans.Coordinate appropriate interventions to support pupils'' learning and development.Ensure reasonable adjustments are made to help pupils access the curriculum.Monitor the effectiveness of interventions and adapt support where necessary.Advise teachers on adapting lessons and teaching strategies to meet individual needs.Guide teaching assistants on effective strategies for supporting pupils with SEND.Help staff manage challenging behaviour and implement positive behaviour support strategies.Provide training and share best practice around inclusive teaching.Communicate with parents about their child''s needs, progress and support.Attend meetings ..... full job details .....
