Overview
Rolling Stock Engineer required to manage work on London Underground and NWR Infrastructure. Contract based in London, long term. Rate negotiable depending on relevant experience.Responsibilities
Manage multiple rolling stock test fleets including British Rail, Crossrail Class 345, Alstom Class, London Underground, DMU or EMU rolling stock test fleets.Provide technical, leadership and project management support to rolling stock, depot and stabling matters.Manage the technical interfaces for the introduction of new trains into passenger service.Support the Senior Fleet Manager in the implementation of the rolling stock Test Fleet into passenger service and provide technical leadership, project management to the Rolling Stock introduction process, deputising for the Senior Fleet Manager as required.Track, monitor and escalate as required to ensure delivery of the Rolling Stock Test obligations contained in the relevant master test programme.Manage, keep current and close out all aspects of the Rolling Stock Test Fleet risks contained in the fleet engineering risk management plan.Establish with the Senior Fleet Manager, implement and deliver an internal period reporting system for the relevant Test fleet.Experience Required / Qualifications
Substantial modern rolling stock engineering experience.Technical knowledge of 25 kV fleets and modern signalling systems (ideally CBTC, ETCS).Diagnostics and prognostics; strong knowledge of routine maintenance railway depot operations, stabling sites, train preparation, remote repair, modification programs and maintenance practices.Familiarity with UK and international rolling stock standards.Understanding of safety regime within railway industry and safety management systems of national rail operators.
