Design Manager

Salary: £70,000–£80,000 + Package

A leading main contractor operating across London is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to support the delivery of a major residential development in East London. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-driven Design Manager to join a highly reputable contractor known for delivering high-quality, design-led schemes across the residential sector.

The Role

As the Design Manager, you will take ownership of the design process from pre-construction through to project completion. You will work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and site teams to ensure the smooth coordination of all design information across the residential project.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the full design process, ensuring timely release of information.
• Lead design workshops, liaise with architects, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications, and technical information to identify risks or inconsistencies.
• Work with pre-construction and construction teams to align design deliverables with programme and budget.
• Ensure all design activities comply with Building Regulations and project requirements.
• Provide ongoing support to site teams throughout the build phase.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Coordinator within a main contractor environment.
• Strong residential project experience (RC frame or mixed-use beneficial).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to drive coordination across multiple stakeholders.
• Confident working both in an office and onsite environment.

Package

• £70,000 – £80,000 base salary
