The successful candidate will join a highly skilled engineering team, working on the design and development of advanced technology used within the defence industry. Creating and modifying engineering drawings in line with relevant industry standards, including BS8888. Working from existing engineering drawings and interpreting technical specifications. Supporting product development and design projects from concept through to prototype. Ordering prototype parts and liaising with external suppliers. Working closely with internal engineering and project teams to ensure designs meet project requirements. Identifying and resolving mechanical design issues through effective problem-solving. Ensuring all drawings and design work are completed accurately and to a high standard. Applying knowledge of manufacturing principles and production processes when developing designs. Managing allocated design tasks independently and working with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate for the Mechanical Design Engineer: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
