Part Time Teaching Assistant - Severn Beach (BS35)

An extremely well-respected primary school in South Gloucestershire are currently recruiting for a teaching assistant to promote and support classroom learning for SEN pupils in Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2. This is an exciting opportunity for aspiring teachers to initiate their career in education and to gain an understanding of the National Curriculum. This is a rewarding and important position where no two days are the same!

• Mainstream Primary School
• -13.85 per hour, including holiday pay
• 21 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only + Inset days)
• Tuesday- Friday, 9am-2.45pm
• Ongoing role, subject to continued funding and child remaining in the school

Duties of the Teaching Assistant role

• Working with individual learners with EHCP in the classroom on a 1:1 basis
• Supporting children''s behaviour for learning in the classroom.
• Helping children with their understanding of the teacher''s instructions.
• Keeping track and recording pupil progress.

What we need from you

• Maths and English GCSE grade A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent
• Experience working with SEN children - for example youth work, support work, mental health work or SEN in sport
• Confident to converse with parents, students and members of the public
• Good ICT skills
