Attendance Officer

Location: Grays, Essex

Salary: Up to £26,365 (Actual Salary)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 Hours Per Week

Working Pattern: Term Time Only

Start Date: September 2026

Local Education are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded secondary school in Grays seeking an experienced Attendance Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Attendance Officer, Family Liaison Officer, Pastoral Officer, or School Administrator with experience in attendance to join a supportive school community.

The successful candidate will play a key role in improving student attendance and punctuality by working closely with students, families, staff and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and tracking attendance data

• Managing attendance procedures and interventions

• Liaising with parents and carers regarding attendance concerns

• Producing attendance reports for senior leaders

• Supporting strategies to improve attendance across the school

• Working with external agencies where appropriate

Requirements:

• Previous attendance experience within a school setting

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Excellent organisational skills

• Confidence using school MIS systems

• Ability to work effectively with students, families and staff
