Hydrant Maintenance Technician
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service are recruiting for a Hydrant Maintenance Technician, on a full time, permanent basis. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £27,254 to £30,024 per annum. Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service is looking for a Hydrant Maintenance Technician to join our team. You will be a key member of a small and dedicated hydrant maintenance team, working across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. Fire hydrants are a critical component of the water supply infrastructure used in firefighting operations, and ensuring their reliability is essential to the effective delivery of our emergency response services. In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection and routine maintenance of fire hydrants located within the public highway. The role is based on a 37-hour working week. In addition, you will be required to start early to meet the needs of the team. Also, work four Sunday mornings per year. This is an active, field-based role requiring you to travel between locations, often working independently in a busy outdoor environment. You will assess the condition and accessibility of fire hydrants, carry out visual checks, and ensure they are fully operational using appropriate equipment. Faults or defects must be identified and reported in line with service procedures.
