Our client, a leading organisation within the highways sector, is seeking an enthusiastic ITS Design Engineer to join its team in Chelmsford. This permanent role will support the design, development and delivery of intelligent transport systems across the Essex Highways network, with occasional site visits and flexible working hours.Key Responsibilities:Design and deliver intelligent transport system schemes and specification documents for tendering and constructionDevelop solutions involving traffic signals, pedestrian crossings, CCTV installations and electronic driver messaging signsPrepare controller configuration forms, technical specifications and supporting design documentationRespond to technical queries relating to ITS and traffic engineeringReview and approve third-party ITS designs and proposalsWork collaboratively with clients, operational teams, colleagues, supply chain partners and external stakeholders to resolve technical issuesAssist with the management and monitoring of works programmes, budgets and project performancePromote high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and quality in line with integrated management systemsJob Requirements:Experience in ITS design, traffic signals or highways engineeringFamiliarity with traffic signal control strategies, including VA, UTC/SCOOT and MOVAAbility to write controller configuration forms and ITS technical specificationsUnderstanding of ITS standards, specifications and relevant industry ..... full job details .....
