Mechanical Engineer
Mechanical Engineer
Location: Rugby
Salary: Circa -42,000 per annum
Monday to Friday | Days | Static Site
Bring your mechanical expertise to a busy, technically varied site.
We''re looking to speak with a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys hands-on maintenance work and is confident working across a range of building services.
You''ll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical plant, HVAC systems and wider building services, with the opportunity to develop your air conditioning knowledge through additional training.
The role has a particular emphasis on mechanical building services, alongside exposure to HVAC, electrical systems and general site maintenance.
The day-to-day
Undertake scheduled servicing, inspections and repairs across mechanical plant and building services.
Investigate equipment failures, identify underlying problems and carry out remedial work.
Assist with the maintenance of VRV/VRF air conditioning equipment, with training available to develop your knowledge.
Help maintain efficient operation of HVAC systems, plant and associated equipment.
Use building management systems (BMS) to monitor performance and identify potential issues.
Ensure maintenance activities are completed in line with relevant safety procedures and site requirements.
Complete maintenance records, permits, risk assessments and associated documentation.
Keep track of equipment condition, spare parts and recurring maintenance issues.
Work alongside the site engineering team and management to keep the building operating effectively.
Join an on-call rotation and provide occasional out-of-hours support when required.
What you''ll bring
We''re interested in speaking with mechanically biased engineers who are confident carrying out maintenance within a commercial or industrial environment.
Ideally, you''ll have:
A background in mechanical building services or plant maintenance.
Relevant mechanical qualifications, preferably City & Guilds or equivalent.
Good practical fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
An understanding of wider mechanical and electrical building services.
A willingness to develop your skills within air conditioning and HVAC.
No F-Gas qualification? That''s not necessarily a problem. The employer is prepared to provide the relevant training and support you in working towards your F-Gas certification.
What''s on offer?
Basic salary of approximately -42,000.
Monday to Friday working pattern.
Daytime hours.
Static position - no travelling between sites.
33 days annual holiday.
Company pension.
Private healthcare.
This is an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established international facilities management business in a permanent, site-based engineering position.
If you''re currently working in a mobile maintenance role and would prefer the consistency of working at one location, this could be a worthwhile move. You''ll retain the hands-on engineering element while benefiting from a regular Monday-to-Friday routine and the opportunity to expand your HVAC knowledge.
