Kiln is a vibrant neighbourhood restaurant located in the dynamic and creative Ouseburn in Newcastle. Specialising in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, we focus on bold flavours, open fire cooking, and shared dining at its heart. Established over 7 years, Kiln has become a mainstay of the Newcastle dining scene, with a strong ethos of sustainability, innovation and progression.We are now looking for a passionate and ambitious chef ready to take the step into a Head Chef role. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to take the reins in a well-regarded kitchen with the support and structure to succeed.The right candidate will:Have 2+ years of experience in a Head Chef, Sous Chef or senior kitchen role
Be confident leading a team and running smooth, high-quality services
Possess a strong passion for food, seasonality and kitchen culture
Be keen to learn and develop in kitchen management (rota, GP%, compliance)
Be calm, organised and hands-on at all times
Key responsibilities include:Taking ownership of daily service and food standards
Leading and mentoring the kitchen team
Collaborating with the General Manager on menu development
Ensuring consistency, cleanliness and kitchen morale
Working closely with suppliers to uphold quality and sustainability
