Mechanical Fitter - Thames
Overview We re recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering contractor delivering mechanical installations and maintenance across industrial, utilities, and infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth, we re seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the team. Key Duties Perform general mechanical duties, including installation and maintenance. Install and align mechanical equipment such as motors, gearboxes, and bearings. Fabricate and fit steel support systems. Conduct fault-finding and repair work on mechanical systems. Assist other disciplines (Electrical or Civils) when required. Ensure responsible use of a company vehicle. Work away from home on occasion (typically Monday Friday). Health and Safety Responsibilities Follow all company and site-specific Health and Safety policies. Review and sign onto all relevant CPP/RAMS before starting work. Comply with Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments. Maintain a strong safety-first attitude at all times. Qualifications and Training Mechanical apprenticeship or Level 3 Mechanical qualification (essential). Confined Space trained (current). CSCS Card holder (essential). Lifting Operations (CPCS) desirable. First Aid desirable. Health and Safety (IOSH) desirable.
