Nelson Permanent Placements are working with our client recruiting for an Electrical Engineer with relevant experience to join a family-owned company in West Bromwich which has been operating for over 150 years.

To be considered for this role as an Electrical Engineer you will be:

• Professionally qualified with a NVQ or City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering
• Proven track record of electrical maintenance
• Experience within a heavy industrial manufacturing setting

Key Responsibilities of an Electrical Engineer

• Be competent in the provision, inspections, planned, operations and the development of maintenance
• Control of authorised budgets
• Design, upgrading, specification, instillation of electrical equipment
• Supervise and training of the electrical team and contractors
• Creating a positive Health and Safety culture meeting the highest level of safety meeting legal, statutory and company requirements
• Liaison at all levels inside the Company.  Outside contacts typically include suppliers, contractors and agencies such as the HSE & EA.

Requirements of an Electrical Engineer

• Educated to level 3 (e.g. Full City & Guilds level 3) in a practical Electrical discipline as a minimum.
• Ideally, you will have 2 years in a supervisor role with five years hands on experience.
• Ideally you would have CompEx (Ex01-04) & (Ex05-06) qualifications but this is not a necessity as these can be acquired once employed. 
• An  understanding of ATEX, area classification and BS60079 is desirable
