ROLE TITLE:

BandW Prospective InnovationSkincare Marketing ManagerLOCATION: London 100VEReporting to the Global Skin Brand Partner and Marketing Design Lead, this role is part of a team at the centre of crafting superior mixes with outstanding beauty desirability. You will translate emerging macro science, technology trends and semiotic codes into tangible opportunities for our hair/skin brands. You will be a connector, building cross-functional teams to leverage internal and external talent to drive more impactful, sustainable innovation and excellence in design. You will elevate design capabilities for formula (technology, sensorials, sustainability), packaging (usage, inclusivity, aesthetics, sustainability) and consumer experience.

Responsibilities

Co-Creation SprintsAlign with the Skin Lead on priority projects you will lead with their support and coaching.

Collaborate with the Trends and Beauty Academy Lead and RandD teams to translate macro trends into tangible opportunities for product and pack innovation for the skin brands.

Act as an ongoing strategic partner to skin brand teams and prospective innovation managers by challenging and shaping project briefs and leading co-creation sprints (innovation, brand, design) as well as ongoing crafting sessions to refine output.

Lead the development of the creative stimulus for co-creation sprints by collaborating with internal teams (RandD, CMI, Marketing) and external parties (consumers, external experts, designers) to stimulate creative thinking and bring the sprint to life.

Packaging DesignPartner with Brand Leads to execute their design strategy into tangible project briefs, leading a design ecosystem (internal teams and external designers and agencies) to land these new designs in market.

Directly manage 2-3 freelance designers as part of the design ecosystem: briefing, evaluating work and managing overall project workload.

Share responsibility for sourcing and onboarding external partners to procurement systems and manage project budget and supplier payments for your category.

Budget and Systems ManagementHelp build an external contact database; ensure profiles are up to date with high data accuracy, in partnership with your skin counterpart.

Onboard new external suppliers to procurement systems.

Raise purchase orders for skin co-creation and design projects and work with finance on cross-charges where necessary.

Curiosity and passion for beauty and aesthetics with deep understanding of the skin/hair category and competitors.

Strong communicator, relationship builder and influencer; able to work effectively across cultures and say no when needed.

Solid understanding of the BandW business with a proactive mindset to improve approaches or suggest new workstreams.

Highly organised with the ability to plan and prioritise own work.

Facilitation and co-creation skills to structure engaging sprints and workshops that drive outcomes.

Agile, adaptable to change; proactive and a supportive team player.

Passion for understanding consumers and helping them achieve needs and desires through end-to-end design.

Ability to translate an aesthetic vision into clear beauty codes and articulate that in brands, mixes and concepts.

Ability to express creative concepts with coherence between words, visuals and staging; fluent in colour, lighting, composition, finishes and textures.

Extremely high attention to detail.

Key Experience

Bachelor’s Degree with significant experience in brand marketing including product innovation.

Experience leading packaging design projects, briefing designers and evaluating creative work.

Experience leading innovation and brand strategy development, particularly in beauty.

Proven track record of leading a cross-functional team and managing multiple projects in parallel.

About the Role

London-based role with a minimum of two days a week in the office.

Travelling within the UK and abroad for print trials and mock-up productions.

Location NoteIn June 2020 we announced a consolidation plan for offices in the South East of England into a new campus, with the current proposal to retain our central Head Office in London (100 Victoria Embankment) until 2027. From August 2024, the company is consulting on the future location of teams; your role may be based at 100VE until 2027 or moved to Kingston-upon-Thames in early 2025. Your normal place of work will be 100VE until consultation concludes, after which it may be 100VE or Kingston-upon-Thames. You will be notified of the final location after the consultation ends.
