Senior Technical Coordinator

OverviewWe have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Technical Coordinator to join our team within Vistry West London, at our office in Ealing. The Senior Technical Coordinator will control the complete design process, managing consultants, liaising with statutory and local authorities, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary to ensure designs comply with legislation, standards, and Vistry Group specifications, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
Manage multiple sites from design stage to post-completion, in line with delivery programme and key dates, as agreed with the Technical Director/Manager.
Undertake the Principal Designer role under the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 and complete all necessary Health, Safety and Environmental documents in line with Group Policy and procedures.
Coordinate delivery of surveys and reports required for the development and manage associated requirements from design to completion.
Manage the process of obtaining consultant fee proposals and formal appointment documents in accordance with Group procedures.
Coordinate consultants to deliver civil engineering designs including legal plans and house type working drawing packs.
Obtain and collate ancillary specialist drawings (e.g., hot water supply, heating, kitchen, stair, lintels, PC ground floors, precast upper floors).
Undertake value engineering assessments and ensure buildability is considered.
Coordinate submission of designs and secure technical approvals for agreements such as S104, S38 and S278, followed by timely completion of legal agreements.
Coordinate utility designs and initial mains laying onto site, ensuring legal agreements are completed in a timely manner.
Coordinate information and liaise with architects, civil and structural engineers, and landscape architects to ensure consistency between designs.
Prepare all drawings and documents for engineering and superstructure elements for tender, followed by construction issue and sales handover.
Coordinate street naming with local authority, complete plot lists, and distribute internally and externally within the business.
Where applicable, obtain Management Company quotations, review, compare, and provide recommendations for appointments to the Sales and Technical Director.
Assist in the production of Sales brochures, legal documentation, and sales handover meetings.
Provide information for Housing Association contracts and attend progress meetings; submit information to NHBC and obtain approvals, including SAP Assessments and EPCs as required.
Attend and chair Pre-Start Meetings and brief all departments on matters related to engineering and working drawings.
Assist the Land, Planning and Development teams with advice during land acquisition and support discharge of planning conditions.
Monitor and report technical and development fees including S106 obligations; resolve technical queries through site visits and progress meetings.
Qualifications
BTEC HND/HNC in Design, Construction or Civil Engineering.
Extensive experience in a technical role at a residential house builder.
Good IT literacy with experience of AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel and Word.
Proven ability in a Senior Technical Coordinator role to deliver designs on time, to budget and quality standards with high customer satisfaction.
Excellent organization and time management with ability to multitask; commercially aware; able to make decisions within authority.
Able to lead and work as part of a team; strong problem-solving and analytical skills; good mathematical ability.
Ability to design and interpret designs and the technical demands of others; professional appearance at all times.
Continuous improvement mindset and drive to achieve customer satisfaction; able to work under pressure and accept constructive criticism.
Good communication skills and ability to liaise with internal staff and external bodies; practical and methodical with strong analytical skills.

Desirable: Member of a professional body (e.g., ICE, CIAT, CIOB); Principal Designer and related Health and Safety training/qualifications; CSCS card; Viewpoint drawing management system; AutoCAD proficiency; management of technical fees and services cost; ongoing professional development.
