TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive Catholic primary school based in Ebbw Vale, who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant. The school prides itself on its nurturing, family-centred ethos, providing a supportive learning environment where children are encouraged to grow in confidence, develop their abilities and achieve their individual potential.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated Teaching Assistant on a long-term, part-time basis, working 2 days per week from November. The successful Teaching Assistant will deliver targeted intervention sessions in reading, writing and maths, supporting pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis to build confidence, strengthen core skills and make progress in their learning.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)

• Experience supporting children within a primary school setting

• Experience delivering small-group interventions in literacy and numeracy

• A good understanding of the Curriculum for Wales

• Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt learning activities to individual needs

• A patient, positive and enthusiastic approach to supporting children''s development
