UK Wide Hybrid & Field Based

Are you an experienced Business Development Manager with a proven track record of selling complete conveyor and automation solutions?

Our client is a growing and ambitious engineering business specialising in conveyor systems, materials handling and automation solutions across a wide range of industrial sectors.

Due to continued expansion, they are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to drive new business growth and develop long-term customer relationships throughout the UK.

The Role

This is a hybrid position combining office based, home working, customer site visits and business development activities across the UK. You will be responsible for identifying and securing new opportunities, building strong client relationships and managing the sales process from initial contact through to project award.

The successful candidate will have experience selling complete conveyor lines, automated handling systems or turnkey materials handling solutions, rather than individual components, spares or standalone products.

Key Responsibilities

• The Business Development Manager will generate and develop new business opportunities across the UK.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Identify customer requirements and work with internal teams to develop suitable solutions.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to contract award.
• Attend customer meetings, site surveys and industry events.
• Prepare and present commercial proposals and quotations.
• The Business Development Manager will maintain an active sales pipeline and achieve agreed revenue targets.
• Represent the business professionally within the conveyor, automation and industrial sectors.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years'' experience in a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Field Sales or similar commercial role.
• Demonstrable success selling complete conveyor systems, automation projects or materials handling solutions.
• The Business Development Manager will need experience selling full production lines or turnkey projects is essential.
• Strong B2B sales and relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to business development.
• Comfortable travelling throughout the UK to visit customers and prospects.
• Experience within automation, conveyor systems, materials handling, intralogistics or industrial engineering sectors.
