A great opportunity is available for a Senior Authorised Person to join a well-known Electrical Contractor based in Hamilton. The company provide maintenance services to clients across the country on projects such as hospitals and distilleries, carrying out design, testing and commissioning for installations and refurbishments up to and including 33kV.

Responsibilities:

• Execute construction and asset replacement projects on 11kV - 33kV distribution networks.
• Work with HV Operations Team and clients to prepare HV outages.
• Organise and execute HV switching, isolation, earthing, and issue of safety documentation for customer HV networks up to 33kV.
• Undertake on site testing and commissioning of customer HV distribution systems.
• Work with the HV Operations Manager to provide proposals and technical solutions for clients.
• Oversee specifications, costs, budget and report progress.
• Ensure that the work is adequately instructed and communicated to the workforce.
• Manage Health & Safety for the site and ensure works are carried out safely.
• Manage sub-contractors.
• Maintain quality standards.

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes:

• HNC in Electrical Engineering – Power Distribution or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
• HV Private Networks experience essential.
• City & Guilds in HV Operational safety
• IOSH / NEBOSH (desirable).
• HV Senior Authorisation status required (e.g. DNO Authorisations, or with other organisations).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an electrical contracting environment and be technically competent.
• Knows when to say no both from a technical and safety perspective.
• Has appreciation and understanding of the commercial impact of practical actions on customer’s sites.
• The ability to work in a controlled way under pressure.
