RoleFollowing recent investment, The Citation Group is looking to build out its data capabilities. We seek a strong data engineer to join the Finance projects team. The role bridges financial systems, supports data migrations, and engineers workflows to streamline data pipelines, ensure data integrity, and automate integrations.

The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain robust data migrations between internal systems (ERP, billing, CRM, etc.) and finance tools to support acquisitions and system upgrades. A strong background in Python is preferred to build and automate ETL/ELT processes, perform data validation and reconciliation, and develop scripts for data extraction and transformation across varied systems.

Responsibilities

Collecting and documenting data requirements.

Proactively ensuring platforms and pipelines are reliable and robust, fixing issues as they arise and proposing stability improvements.

Develop, deploy and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to automate financial data collection, transformation, validation and exception reporting.

Actively engaging with stakeholders across multiple departments.

Data platforms administration.

Ensure relevant technical documentation is in place.

About you / Qualifications

Roll up your sleeves and work collaboratively with the team. Excellent writing and communication skills with attention to detail.

Experience writing, troubleshooting, and debugging advanced SQL queries.

Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience with ETL/ELT, and reporting and analytics tools.

Experience designing data warehouse technical architectures and infrastructure components.

Programming experience in Python.

Skills and experience

Understanding of cloud computing security concepts.

Experience with relational cloud-based databases (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).

Experience with open source technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Beam).

Good understanding of Cloud providers – AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud.

Familiarity with DBT, Delta Lake, Databricks.

Experience working in an agile environment.
