Our vision is for risk and compliance to be an integral part of the business, providing expert and pragmatic advice. We are building this function and you will take a key role in owning all compliance matters at Griffin, developing close working relationships with risk, Operations, Product and Commercial.Who are you?

We’d love to hear from you if you have most of the following:A deep knowledge of all major aspects of regulation that affect us, including safeguarding requirements, DISP, PSD and B/COBS.Experience in regulatory areas such as conflicts of interest, consumer duty, conduct, payments, cards, complaints handling, financial promotions, SMandCR, product governance and remuneration.Experience with or close to a regulatory body.Experience working for, or with, a bank in the UK.Comfort with solo execution in a small team and with managing people.A love for writing and a strong emphasis on clarity and readability in documents.Comfort with picking up new software tools for drafting, collaboration and communication in a hybrid-remote environment.N.B. As the Head of Compliance at Griffin, you will:Oversee the non-financial risks assigned within the risk management framework.Help the business develop effective internal controls to manage compliance risks and embed a culture of compliance.Provide proportionate and independent advice to the first line as needed.Develop and maintain the compliance framework, including policies and processes for conflicts of interest, gifts and hospitality, SMCR, whistleblowing and compliance training.Perform horizon scanning and report to governance committees and risk owners to ensure compliance with new regulation.Oversee the embedding of Consumer Duty regulations to deliver good customer outcomes.Maintain proactive dialogue with relevant regulatory bodies.Work with internal auditors and the second line in a transparent, collaborative manner.Work with product to identify and manage compliance considerations for new and existing products and services.Prepare MI packs for governance bodies and improve them as needed.Keep the RCSA for their area up to date.Provide subject matter expertise to the assurance team as needed.Deputise for the CRO as needed.You’ll report to the Chief Risk Officer.As this role is caught by the Certification Regime, the role holder must adhere to the FCA’s Fitness and Propriety Requirements.What can we offer you?
