Are you a skilled Site Reliability Engineer with strong UNIX/Linux expertise and a passion for automation and infrastructure optimisation£ Our client is looking for an experienced SRE to join a forward-thinking team on a 6-month contract, with the potential for extension. This role offers hybrid working, with a base in Edinburgh.

You''ll play a key role in supporting the migration to RHEL 8/9, driving automation, and enhancing observability, performance, and resilience across infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities

- Support deployment and migration of services to RHEL 8/9
- Develop and enhance automation for disaster recovery activities
- Provide support for existing and new UNIX infrastructure
- Optimise existing systems and services for better performance and efficiency
- Deploy and support Ansible Automation Platform
- Manage and support Oracle Database 19c on Oracle Linux using KVM
- Maintain logging and observability stacks, including time-series databases
- Promote SLO/SLI tracking and measurement
- Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure
- Engage with external teams, providing guidance on platform/service consumption

Key Skills and Experience Required

£ RHEL 7/8/9 system administration
£ Red Hat Satellite administration
£ Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
£ Scripting skills – Bash, Perl
£ Experience with HAProxy, keepalived, and other load balancing tools
£ Expertise in Docker, container runtimes, and Kubernetes/OpenShift environments
£ Experience in CI/CD environments – Git, Git runners, Ansible Automation Platform
£ Monitoring and Observability:

- Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch
- Time Series Databases – InfluxDB
- Full stack admin: TICK, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Fluentd
