Support Worker - Children and Young People (Residential Care) Location: Newcastle Company: Brook StreetAbout the RoleBrook Street is recruiting Support Workers - Children and Young People to join a dedicated and supportive team within a residential care setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who have experienced trauma, loss, or instability. Six month''s care experience is essential for this role. You will play a vital part in supporting the physical, emotional, and social needs of children and young people, working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals. The role also includes transporting children and young people to school, appointments, and activities. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day care in line with individual care plansCreate a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environmentSupport education, recreation, and personal developmentImplement behaviour management and therapeutic approachesSafeguard and promote the welfare of children and young peopleMaintain accurate records and documentationParticipate in team meetings, reflective practice, and ongoing trainingWork a flexible rota, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shiftsEssential RequirementsRight to work in the UKAbility to pass enhanced DBS and safeguarding checksAbility to work shift patternsEmotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressureReliable, flexible, and committed to child-centred
