Job title: Print Machine Operator (Platen Operator)

Location: Thame, Oxfordshire

Contract Details: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 40 hours per week, rotating shifts:

• 06:00am - 2:00pm, Monday to Friday (30 mins lunch break)
• 2:00pm - Midnight, Monday to Thursday (40 mins lunch break)

Salary: -27,040 - -39,520 per annum (-13.00 - -19.00 per hour), depending on experience

My client is looking for a Platen Operator to join their skilled production team in Thame.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain platen presses to produce high-quality printed products
• Carry out cutting, creasing, embossing, and debossing processes to specification
• Monitor machine performance and adjust settings to ensure optimum quality and efficiency
• Interpret job tickets, artwork layouts, and production specifications accurately
• Conduct routine quality and safety checks
• Identify and resolve minor machine and quality issues
• Work closely with production, design, and quality teams to ensure customer requirements are met
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards around machinery and work areas
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity

Skills and Attributes

• Previous experience operating platen presses or similar print finishing equipment is highly beneficial, although training will be provided
• Strong technical understanding of cutting, creasing, embossing, and debossing processes
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Ability to read and interpret production specifications and job instructions
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop

Desirable Skills

• Experience within a commercial print, packaging, or manufacturing environment
• Relevant training, apprenticeship, or qualifications in print or manufacturing
