Legal Assistant

Location: Cardiff
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (9am - 5pm)
Salary: -26,000

The Opportunity

We''re working with a well-regarded law firm in Cardiff looking to add a Legal Assistant to their Litigation department. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid admin experience in a legal setting who wants to develop their career.

What you''ll be doing:

• Manage and progress a caseload of debt recovery and enforcement matters, with appropriate supervision.
• Review instructions and carry out initial case assessments.
• Draft and issue Letters Before Action and County Court claims.
• Liaise with clients, debtors, solicitors, courts and third parties to progress cases.
• Instruct and liaise with enforcement agents, tracing agents, bailiffs and High Court Enforcement Officers.
• Assist with possession and eviction matters where required.
• Monitor court deadlines and ensure compliance with relevant procedures and internal policies.
• Prepare hearing bundles, court filings and client documentation. Assist with billing, file reviews and general administrative duties.
• Handle telephone enquiries and provide a professional service to clients.

What you''ll need:

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Confident working independently and as part of a team, with good initiative.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Resilient and adaptable approach.
• Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and litigation processes is desirable but not essential.
