The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teachers and helping pupils achieve their learning goals. Working across the primary age range, you will provide classroom support, assist with small group interventions, and work with individual pupils where required.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons.
• Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning.
• Assisting with classroom preparation and organisation.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a supportive learning environment.
• Supporting pupils with varying educational and developmental needs.
• Helping to monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Contributing to the overall wellbeing and development of children within the school.

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred).
• Have previous experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or similar setting.
• Be passionate about supporting children''s learning and development.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be patient, caring, and approachable.
• Have strong organisational skills and the ability to use their initiative.
• Work effectively as part of a team while also being confident working independently.
• Be flexible, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards.
• Have a positive attitude and enthusiasm for working within a primary school environment.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
